FSU football: Running on first down being predictable narrative is wrong

Final Thoughts
When a team loses three consecutive games after winning four straight and fans feel like the program is on the precipice of returning to its glory days, the emotional charge makes everyone forget reality.
The game is simple when you can strip away that emotion and take a step back. It’s not the play-calling. I mean, we can all nitpick plays here and there. However, it’s the lack of execution(receivers dropping passes, players missing blocks, or QB making bad decisions) and turning the ball over in the last three games.
FSU has eight turnovers this year, four have come in those three games. It’s crazy how folks point out the mistakes defensive players make, but never mention a tight end missing a block or an offensive lineman not even touching the guy he’s supposed to block.
I think the pressure of knowing the offense likely needed to score often affected the offense against Wake Forest. Against NC State, the plays were there all night, but receivers couldn’t catch the ball in crucial situations.
Against Clemson, the Noles couldn’t convert in the red zone on first and goal from the two-yard line or on fourth and two from the Clemson 30. If they convert in both, it’s likely a different game. Aside from that, the fumble, failed fake punt, and the kickoff return gave the defense no chance on those three possessions.
The fake punt attempt is one play I could have done without, but other than that, it’s all about players executing when the opportunities present themselves. They executed well A LOT against Clemson offensively, Clemson just took advantage of their mistakes, as good teams should.
