FSU baseball had a disappointing 2021-22 season, and new Athletic Director Michael Alford wasted no time deciding to move on from Mike Martin Jr.
The hire of former Nole Link Jarrett from Notre Dame has infused the fan base with much-needed energy, and there’s growing excitement for the upcoming season.
Jarrett has already put some of his fingerprints on the program with changes to the facilities at Dick Howser Stadium.
He’s also hit the recruiting trail, adding some players from the transfer portal and a few prep players.
The excitement for the upcoming season was palpable as the 2022-23 scheduled got announced Wednesday morning.

FSU at Notre Dame in late April will be a lot of fun, for obvious reasons, it will be interesting to see where both programs will be at at that point in time

Thoughts
I think having 31 home games should be helpful for a team that’s going through a lot of transition from the coaches to the players. I would agree with one of the tweets above that the home schedule leaves a bit to desire.
However, a road trip to TCU is cool early in the season and will be great prep for conference play soon after, and I have ties with Kennesaw State.
They were a part of the conference I played in (Peachbelt Conference, at the time the best DII conference nationally) when I was in college in the late 90s and were a perennial top 10 team before moving to Division I a few years ago.
The ACC Conference road slate at UVA, Miami, NC State, Notre Dame, and Louisville will not be a cakewalk.
I haven’t looked to see what teams lost roster-wise, but at first glance, this schedule doesn’t look to be the easiest, but they do have some conference foes early on that should be beatable before playing Florida and Miami back-to-back.
The Noles lost a lot of firepower on the mound with the departures of Parker Messick and Bryce Hubbart to the major leagues, so it’ll be interesting to see how quickly this team gels on the mound and offensively.
