Longtime 2023 FSU football wide receiver commit, Vandrevius Jacobs is a player we felt had been underrated for a long time. Jacobs had a three-star (.8628) ranking when he committed to the Noles in June 2021.

He was the His nickname is “All Day Dre” because he consistently catches everything and runs great routes at 6’1″ and 170 pounds.

Jacobs has held the standard of that moniker highly throughout his senior year so far. His production has forced recruiting sites to re-evaluate his ranking and give him his fourth star. Jacobs has grown about an inch and added about 15 pounds since committing to the Noles.

He’s considered the No. 402 player nationally (.8919) and the No. 55 wide receiver. Jacob receiving his fourth star to become a blue-chip player improves FSU’s 2023 recruiting blue-chip ratio to 56 percent, with 9 of 16 high school commits as blue-chip players.

If that holds or improves, that’ll be the highest percentage in the Mike Norvell era, with the highest percentage being 37 percent in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

The 2022 recruiting cycle saw him reel in a 35 percent blue-chip ratio, but both classes have had quality players from the transfer portal. I don’t expect the staff to add too many more high school players. They will likely continue to supplement from the transfer portal since they can likely attract an even higher quality player after their recent success on the field and in the portal.

Jacobs is the second blue-chip wide receiver commit, along with five-star Hykeem Williams. The wide receiver position was a major area of need in this class, and the third wide receiver commit, Darren Lawrence, could be a tad underrated too.

We gave FSU wide receivers coach Ron Dugans a hard time after last year’s recruiting cycle, but we have to give him props if everything holds.
