FSU football: 3 key stats about NC State’s defense

Sacks/Tackles For A Loss
A lot of folks have touted NC State’s front seven and ability to get after the quarterback and stop the run.
I’ve already pointed out how they allow more yards per rush than FSU, and that’s with FSU facing better offenses and mobile quarterbacks.
However, when we look at their tackles for loss and sacks, it’s lower than FSU, especially considering the competition both teams have faced through five games.
NC State has 30 tackles for a loss and seven sacks with 28 QB hurries.
FSU has 31 tackles for a loss, and 14 sacks(with their leading sack guy only playing 2.5 games and best defensive tackle playing two games) with 11 QB hurries.
When we consider the competition faced, why is the perception NC State is some unstoppable force and FSU is chopped meat?
The sad part is the narrative comes from the media that covers FSU football. Against Clemson, NC State has zero sacks, three QB hurries, and seven tackles for a loss.
FSU has four sacks, four QB hurries, and nine tackles for a loss against Wake Forest(with key guys missing or playing hurt).
