Offensive Line Woes

The FSU offense didn’t play well for large stretches of the game, and most of that seemed to center around the FSU offensive line.

Jordan Travis left some plays on the field, but ultimately, FSU couldn’t run the ball as well as I thought they would. FSU only had 112 rushing yards in the game, and 87 of those yards came via Treshaun Ward. Wake Forest only had one sack and five other tackles for a loss.

However, they had three QB hurries and were able to bottle up Jordan Travis in the run game. He only ran six times, but his longest run was only four yards. When the offensive line struggles, it limits what you can call as a play caller, not to mention the number of penalties they had in the game.

Their level of play never allowed the Noles to get into a rhythm in the first half after the first possession, and ultimately that lull in the offense was the difference in the game. A big part of their issue is sheer health.

That unit has suffered major injuries, and guys in the game were playing with injuries. The offensive line will be a concern in the next two games against NC State and Clemson.
