FSU football: 3 bold predictions for Wake Forest game
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU Will Have 200+ Rushing Yards
Wake Forest only allows 3.70 yards per rush, but they haven’t played a legitimate offense outside of Clemson last week. Clemson’s Will Shipley averaged 5.2 yards per rush, and Clemson’s QB DJ Uiagalelei ran the ball 14 times for 52 yards.
The Tigers had 188 rushing yards on 45 rushing attempts to average 4.2 yards per rush. The Noles have had 180+ rushing yards in the last two games.
One of those games featured Jordan Travis only playing about 30 percent of the game, and the other featured FSU backups going into the game in the third quarter.
In other words, I think FSU could have run for 200+ rushing yards in the last two games, and I don’t see why Wake Forest will be any different. Will Wake Forest sell out to stop the run?
Will this be a game where Jordan Travis does more damage with his legs? Wake Forest allows explosive plays through the air and on the ground.
If the Noles begin to run the ball with success early, I can see the Noles staying with it and pouring it on late in the game as the Wake Forest defense begins to wilt.
