FSU Linebacker Play

I said on the Built For Playmakers Podcast, I think the upgrades at the linebacker position will be the difference in FSU slowing down Louisville’s offense compared to the last two years.

Not only that, but it’s the third year in the same system, and Adam Fuller has a much better understanding of what works and doesn’t work with his players.

Louisville’s offense has seen its peak, and it’s not like they could adjust and play at a higher level than the first half last year or the 2020 game.

FSU adjusted last year and will continue with the linebackers playing a vital role in containing Cunningham and playing better coverage to limit those short pass windows the Cardinals used last year.

Not only that, but these FSU football linebackers are better against the run and are fairly sure tacklers. Keep an eye on this unit when Louisville has the ball on offense.

I have a feeling these guys will be touching Malik Cunningham a lot Friday night. If they are not a factor, either the defensive line is destroying Louisville’s offensive line, or Cunningham is making the guys miss while scrambling.

I’m sure he’ll have his moments, but I don’t expect anything to be consistent.
