Focus

The most important aspect of the craziness in week two is the importance to focus on every team on the schedule. We’ve already seen the players lose focus in the first practice after the LSU win.

However, Mike Norvell called them out, and they responded with a great practice the following day. It’s natural to want to relax after a big win when you’re still learning how to win.

Luckily, FSU has a coach holding the guys accountable, and I think the team leaders needed that reminder so they could hold one another accountable. If the players lose focus again this week, and I don’t they will.

However, if that’s the case, all Mike Norvell has to do is point to programs considered elite, like Alabama, to point out they could have lost against a Texas team as -21 point betting favorites. He can point to Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and others around the country as a point of emphasis.

Those things happening the week before the Louisville game was a gift, especially since the players didn’t have a game. I’m not sure how many of them watch the games, but I’m sure they heard throughout the day who lost and how things were going.

That should lead to a laser-focused week of practice for a team that’s beaten them the last two years.
