Perception

Despite all of the ranked teams losing and FSU football starting the season 2-0, they will not be ranked going into week three. However, as I pointed out before the season started, there were a ton of teams ranked that were frauds and had no business ranked that highly.

The shine has come off Texas A&M and Miami since they struggled with Southern Mississippi Saturday afternoon. Ironically, those two teams play one another in the battle of two fraudulent programs.

A top 25 ranking doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme. It’s more about bragging rights than anything else because there are teams ranked that I believe FSU would defeat right now.

However, the large number of teams losing in week two should put FSU football on the precipice of entering ranked territory.

I think they’d enter the top 25 with a win over Louisville, and it’s something Mike Norvell could use from a perception standpoint with recruits and parents.

It would be the first time FSU had a ranking since the 2018 preseason. Is that right? My goodness, that’s crazy!
