Special Teams

This aspect must improve the most over last year. I don’t suspect FSU will have many kickoff return opportunities, but I’m interested to see what Deuce Spann, Sam McCall, and Mycah Pittman can do.

I think we’ll see Pittman have several opportunities in the punt return game. I don’t need to see punts hitting the ground at any point. If they can’t find success against Duquesne?

It might be a long season. I’m curious to see who will appear on special teams. With better depth at some positions, how many starters will we see? Will we see a lot of talented freshmen like Omar Graham Jr, Brian Courtney, and others on the return units?

How will we feel if Ryan Fitzgerald has to attempt a 40+ yard field goal? Hopefully, that won’t be the case against a team like Duquesne, but FSU will need consistency from him in 2022.

I don’t expect to see much of Alex Mastromanno punting, but if he punts a couple of times, hopefully, we’ll see more hang time and distance on his punts.
