FSU Passing Game

FSU could use this game as a working scrimmage for their passing game. I’d pull Jordan Travis late in the second quarter if they have a sizable lead at that point.

However, I hope he will have shown the progression we’ve seen in practice by then. More importantly, I want to see if backup QB Tate Rodemaker can finally transition what he does in practice into a game.

Saturday would be a great opportunity for Rodemaker to build some confidence and finally get his first passing touchdown in his college career.

His competence will be imperative if Jordan Travis has to come out of any games this year. Maybe we’ll get to see AJ Duffy for a couple of series. I think what most fans that have been following fall camp are interested in seeing is if Johnny Wilson and Deuce Spann are for real?

Will Spann stretch the field vertically and make a big play? What will Johnny Wilson look like in the red zone against the much smaller Duquesne defensive backs?

Will Malik McClain and others look improved? The passing game will dictate how much noise FSU can make against opponents this year.
