Sept. 4th vs. LSU

This game is why FSU football remains one of the national brands in college football, despite not being good on the field for half of a decade.

The Noles are rebuilding, and LSU is in a similar spot to when FSU hired Willie Taggart. They have a new head coach in Brian Kelly, and it’ll be the third straight season Mike Norvell has faced off against Kelly.

Each game has gotten progressively closer, and this might be the opportune time for Norvell to get over the hump. LSU is more talented, but they have some holes the Noles might be able to exploit. FSU will have a game under their belt, and it’ll be LSU’s first game.

The game within the game will be FSU’s offensive line against LSU’s defensive line, and similarly vice-versa.

Oddsmakers have LSU as a -3 betting favorite, with over 80 percent of the bets taking LSU. That’s something that favors FSU football. If FSU can break even or win the turnover battle, I like them to win this game. However, I’d go with a conservative approach and say they take a close loss.

Scoring Prediction: LSU 28, FSU 27

Projected 2022 Record: 1-1
