Offensive Line

The offensive line is a unit FSU football fans have become familiar with over the years. We’ve watched quarterbacks get decimated, and running backs dodge multiple defenders before they reach the line of scrimmage.

They looked like an improved unit before injuries, and a lack of depth began to show themselves later in the season. The coaching staff added four players from the transfer portal(one is lost for the season) and return experienced players from last year.

The emergence of players like Thomas Schader and Bryson Estes gets the Noles to a solid 7-9 players they feel like they can depend on going into the season. They proved adept at run blocking, but blocking in obvious passing situations was an area they needed improvement.

If the offensive line can help avoid negative plays on early downs, FSU’s offense should be less predictable and more efficient.

That will help eliminate obvious passing downs, and likely increase their third down conversion percentage to keep drives alive. All that ultimately leads to more scoring opportunities.
