Trey Benson-RB

Pittman’s former teammate at Oregon, Trey Benson, has gone from the most disliked transfer addition to arguably the most beloved in a matter of months.

Benson suffered a devastating knee injury and didn’t have much of any production since arriving at Oregon in the 2020 recruiting class.

That injury gave FSU football fans pause, and many felt he was a waste of a scholarship. Once again, the coaching staff proved they knew what they were doing and trusted their evaluations. Benson’s performance in spring camp and the spring game opened everyone’s eyes as to what he’s capable of as a player.

He looks to be FSU’s most dynamic running back and will likely evolve into the No. 1 running back on the team before the season ends as long as he remains healthy.

He has a goal to be FSU’s first 1,000-yard rusher since his idol, Cam Akers, in 2019. All he needs is about 170 carries while averaging 84 rushing yards per game to reach that goal.

Benson will be a vital part of the offense behind an improved offensive line.
