Parting Thoughts

Mike Norvell gave his thoughts on the first full day of pads after practice Tuesday. One of the main takeaways is the coaching staff may already have an idea of what the depth chart will look like at some positions.

The team will have their first scrimmage on Saturday, and that’s usually moving day when it comes to who moves up or down on the depth chart.

The team was still mixing and matching players during the first four games of the season last year. If they can go into the season with set rotations on both sides of the ball, that should help continuity and communication.

The latter has been excellent at practice, and there have not been a ton of busted plays allowed by the defense. This fall camp feels different. There seem to be fewer questions than in years past. I wonder if the consistency will be there for the entirerity of fall camp?

The guys haven’t had a “bad” practice yet, or at least Norvell hasn’t come across that way. It seems they know what the expectations are, and now it’s all about executing when the season rolls around.
