Lawrance Toafili

I don’t know if it’s fair to put Lawrance Toafili here as a dark horse candidate. However, at the same time, he was missing in action, and most people believe most of the running back production will go through Treshaun Ward and Trey Benson.

That’s logical thinking considering Toafili has struggled to stay healthy and hasn’t added much weight since arriving. I don’t think anyone believes Toafili is an every-down back, but he has big play ability when he touches the ball.

The wheel route TD catch against Clemson last season is a prime example. I could see him producing a bit more in the passing game as he had 10 receptions in only nine games last year.

It’ll be running back by committee, but if Toafili can stay healthy, I think he could get anywhere from 5-10 touches per game.

He’s a guy that can do damage out in space with one of the nastiest dead-leg moves in the game.

If that’s the case, hopefully, it’ll look like some semblance to the days’ of Freeman, Wilder, and Williams in the FSU backfield.
