Receivers/TE  Improved over 2021

Could this unit be any worse? Man, the FSU wide receivers were abysmal last year, with no one catching over 25 passes or surpassing 382 receiving yards. Ontaria Wilson led the team with five TD receptions.

It’s a primary reason why the coaching staff hit the transfer portal and added four receivers. It was a talent infusion, plus more depth and competition for a group that struggled mightily against most defenses.

The good news is I expect three of those players to contribute, and each brings a different dynamic to the offense.

Mycah Pittman can beat man-to-man coverage and make contested catches. Winston Wright (if healthy) is the most proven commodity of the group, and Johnny Wilson can be a matchup nightmare in the red zone and could play some tight end.

Ja’Khi Douglas has moved to wide receiver full-time and should be a factor. Can Malik McClain take that next step in his sophomore season?

Can the coaches get any semblance of production from players like Joshua Burrell, Darion Williamson, Kentron Poitier, Keyshawn Helton, or Ontaria Wilson?

The tight-end position has senior Camren McDonald, and that’s it in terms of proven production. Players like Jackson West and Wyatt Rector need to step up for depth purposes. Overall, this group is more talented and should produce more overall.
