Impact

Link Jarrett had a team full of upperclassmen in 2022, which helped them advance as far as they did. Most were players Jarrett didn’t recruit, but he helped develop culture and chemistry with the team. Notre Dame was among the top in all major categories in the ACC Conference in 2022.

They had the sixth-highest batting average at .294 and the best pitching ERA at 3.94. Their pitchers allowed the least amount of home runs and the second-fewest walks. Notre Dame had a .981 fielding percentage, which was the best in the ACC. Link Jarrett accomplished this with players that were not highly touted, which is something that shouldn’t be a problem at FSU.

Notre Dame only had one top-100 player between the 2018-2021 recruiting classes. However, they had two in the 2022 recruiting class and the No. 21 recruiting class for 2023. Jarrett has one top-100 player committed for the 2024 recruiting cycle.

A fundamentally sound team with better talent should have a chance to compete for national titles year in and year out in Tallahassee.

FSU has some highly-ranked recruiting classes in the coming years, and a high-profile coach like Jarrett should be able to keep most of those commits in tact.
