First Half of 2021 Season

Jordan Travis missed a lot of reps in the offseason leading up to the Notre Dame game. He was named the starter, but I think the coaching staff still wasn’t unsure what they had with him, and he didn’t have the confidence that he showed near the end of the season.

McKenzie Milton wasn’t healthy, so they had to play the guy that gave them the best option to win. It’s why we saw the playcalling the coaches used early in the season as they were trying to establish an identity on offense.

Here’s the average number of passes, passing yards, rushing attempts, and rushing yards for Travis in the three games he started(he missed significant portions of the Jacksonville State and Wake Forest games and all of the Louisville game).

-21.3 passing attempts
-14 completions
-135 yards per game
-15 rushing attempts
-79 rushing yards per game

Travis accounted for seven passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns in those three games.
