Final Thoughts

When I look at the quality of players who left the program coupled with the quality of new players, I think there’s a definite edge gained in terms of talent.

The thing to remember is most of the freshmen likely will not contribute this year aside from McCall and Thomas. However, the majority of the transfers expect to be contributors aside from Deuce Spann.

Aside from the talent gained from the new acquisitions, I think the biggest difference between this team and last year is the player development and experience.

Jordan Travis knowing he’s the starting QB and getting all of those reps compared to last year should be an advantage.

Players like Kalen DeLoach, Akeem Dent, Omarion Cooper, Treshaun Ward, Malik McClain, Dennis Briggs, Fabien Lovett, Robert Cooper, Dillan Gibbons, Darius Washington, Robert Scott, and others should continue to progress and be better than they were last year.

As I discussed on a recent podcast, this team has enough talent to win eight games in 2022.
