FSU baseball: Noles look to continue momentum against Stetson
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU baseball (26-15, 11-10 ACC) took two games against TCU over the weekend and will host Stetson (20-23, 6-15 ASUN) Tuesday night for a chance for their third straight win.
These two teams played in early April, with the Noles staging an improbable comeback to win in 12 innings. A Jackson Greene two-run home run tied the game in the bottom of the ninth before Jordan Carrion came through with a game-winning single in the bottom of the 12th.
Stetson batters are hitting .253 with an on-base percentage of .344 and have hit 19 home runs, 59 doubles, and 11 triples.
TCU pitchers will enter the contest with a 4.62 ERA, with opposing teams batting .254, with 372 strikeouts and 137 walks in 386 innings. They have allowed 31 home runs.
Defensively, TCU has 54 errors for a fielding percentage of .966.

FSU batters are hitting .266 with an on-base percentage of .374 and have 46 home runs, 91 doubles, and five triples.
Defensively, FSU has 51 errors for a fielding percentage of .967. Stetson has an RPI ranking of No. 136, compared to FSU’s No. 11 ranking.
Key To Victory
First of all, this is a game FSU baseball can’t afford to lose if they want to be taken seriously about hosting regionals. They can’t beat solid teams and lose to teams they shouldn’t lose against.
Stetson isn’t a good ball club and the offense should put up some numbers against a pitching staff that’s not overpowering. Here’s to hoping Logan Lacey and Alex Toral can continue to build on some positive at-bats from the TCU series.
Stetson is not a great team defensively, nor does their offense have a lot of power.
I’m not sure who the starting pitcher will be for this mid-week game. It could be anyone from Conner Whittaker, Jackson Nezuh, or possibly Jonah Scolaro. The key will be throwing strikes and making this team earn everything they get.
Tuesday’s game will begin at 5 p.m. ET and air on ESPN+.
