Key To Victory
I talked about FSU baseball getting back to the basics, and that’s what they did against Louisville. The pitchers threw strikes, and hitters were aggressive early and in hitter counts. The same will need to take place against a good Georgia Southern team.
Jackson Nezuh will get the mid-week start for the first time this year, with Carson Montgomery moving into the Sunday starter role on the weekends. Nezuh (1-0) appeared in eight games, pitching nine innings with a 5.00 ERA.
He has allowed 10 hits, five earned runs, six walks, and eight strikeouts. I’d expect to see several FSU pitchers in this one. Hopefully, Nezuh can be consistently in the strike zone and avoid free passes which have been an issue this year.
Offensively, FSU should have production against Georgia Southern pitchers if they maintain their approach from the Louisville series. They give up the long ball and don’t have an overpowering staff.
Wednesday’s game will begin at 7 p.m. ET and air on the ACCNX channel.
