Tight Ends

The tight-end unit has likely replaced the wide receiver unit for the worst on the team. Camren McDonald is the only proven commodity with a ton of other scholarships given to guys that have not done much to date.

Spring camp didn’t change much in that regard with players dropping passes left and right.
McDonald was solid last season with 24 receptions for 243 yards and two touchdowns.

McDonald will need help as the loss of Jordan Wilson means the rest of the tight ends on the roster have a combined three receptions for 18 yards.

Wyatt Rector, Markeston Douglas, Jackson West, Brian Courtney, Preston Daniels, Koby Gross are on the roster too. That’s a lot of bodies, the majority of which will likely not become contributors.

Could a couple hit the transfer portal and the coaching staff grab a new addition from the portal? Here’s to hoping these guys develop more over the summer and fall camps.

The tight end position is a big part of Mike Norvell’s offense, and a productive unit receiving and blocking means big things for the scoreboard.
