FSU football: 3 observations from the 2022 spring game
By Kelvin Hunt
Defense
I liked what I saw from the defense from the most part. It’s hard to judge everything in totality because they were not allowed to hit the quarterback.
However, they got consistent pressure on the quarterbacks and made a lot of tackles near the line of scrimmage. The secondary had two interceptions and several pass deflections.
This performance was with several starters taking limited reps, which allowed some depth players to get tons of snaps that will help them continue developing.
I think Adam Fuller has this group farther along than they were at this time last year and with better depth overall.
Parting Thoughts
I thought the spring game good overall. I’m not a fan of the drills and making it seem just like another practice, but I understand they had some guys out and didn’t want to risk further injuries to players.. The product on the field was solid.
A solid number of fans showed up which was a good thing with the number of recruits in attendance. I like where this football program is right now. If they can add a couple of more quality pieces from the transfer portal at those key positions? I’ll be ready to lie all offseason!
