Offense

Tate Rodemaker-I know what Jordan Travis brings to the table as a quarterback. If Travis stays healthy, the Noles have a realistic chance to win 7-8 games. However, history shows those are long odds and it’s likely we’ll see Tate Rodemaker. The offense has fallen off of a cliff every time Travis comes out of the game, but Rodemaker has made strides in spring camp. Can he take his game from the practice range to the actual field? If he looks poised and makes some plays, I think FSU football fans should feel estatic.

Malik McClain-McClain had a solid freshman campaign, especially considering the quarterback situation. However, the FSU offense needs him to take that next step to become a difference-maker in year two. I’ll be looking to see if he can get separation against the FSU secondary.

Trey Benson-One of the most controversial takes from the transfers portal has already silenced some doubters. A combination of size and speed, Benson could be just what the Noles need to replace Jashaun Corbin who’ll play on Sunday’s this fall. I want to see how he hits the hole and if he can demonstrate the ability to climb to the second level of the defense. Does he have the speed to take a long run to the house?

Johnny Wilson-The transfer wide receiver could be the X-factor for a middling wide receiver group. I think I have an idea of what Mycah Pittman will bring to the offense, but Wilson could affect the offense in so many ways if he’s productive. I want to see how he performs in a game-like atmosphere. Does he make the contested catches? Can he be a threat in the red zone at 6’7″? I’ve seen him snatch several back shoulder throws in practice. If he becomes a contributor? This offense could be scary.
