FSU softball: No. 3 Noles hit the road to face No. 7 Florida Gators

No. 3 FSU softball (35-2,10-2 ACC) will look for their 10th consecutive win as they travel to face No. 7 Florida Gators (30-6, 7-5 SEC) Wednesday evening. FSU snapped a three-game losing streak against the Gators with a 7-2 win in their last outing in March 2021.
The Noles swept Virginia in a three-game series over the weekend, with Florida winning two of three against No. 17 Auburn. The Gators are 10-4 at home and bring a team batting average of .338 into the game.
They have seven batters hitting .300 or better, with 26 home runs, 45 doubles, and 15 triples.
Their on-base percentage is .419, and they walk (120) nearly as much as they strike out (128). Florida’s pitching staff brings a 2.06 ERA while allowing a .173 batting average.
They have allowed 14 home runs and have 222 strikeouts and 119 walks in 235 innings. Defensively, they have 17 errors for a .983 fielding percentage.
FSU softball has five batters hitting over. 300, with 38 home runs, 55 doubles, and nine triples.
Their on-base percentage is .412, and they walk (170) much more than they strike out (139). FSU’s pitching staff brings a .128 ERA while allowing a .178 batting average.
They have allowed 13 home runs and have 247 strikeouts and 55 walks in 251 innings. Defensively, FSU has 13 errors for a .988 fielding percentage.
