Transfer Portal Will Be Fruitful

One consistent thing we’re hearing from Mike Norvell is the number of transfer players standing out at practice. Norvell isn’t one to praise unless deserved, and we’ve heard him mention several transfers multiple times.

Here’s a list of the transfers: Trey Benson, Jared Verse, Tatum Bethune, Mycah Pittman, Johnny Wilson, Winston Wright, Deuce Spann, Kayden Lyles, and Bless Harris. There are only two players off this list that I haven’t heard mentioned at least a couple of times. Those players are Wright and Spann.

Wright, a proven commodity, was in a car wreck over spring break, but most expected him to be the No. 1 receiver during the season. Spann is a raw player with incredible high upside, but most didn’t expect him to be a consistent contributor. However, everyone else has flashed multiple times.

I expect Benson, Verse, Bethune, Pittman, Wilson, and Lyles to be starters, if not at the beginning of the season, at some point. Harris will likely play valuable minutes if he doesn’t start, and Spann could flash here and there with limited opportunities. There is no clear return date for Wright, but the door has not been closed for him to play in 2022.
