The Smart Thing To Do

Since FSU football coaches already have a good quarterback committed, it wouldn’t be smart to use precious resources recruiting a guy they have virtually no chance of signing.

Think about it, how often do five-star quarterbacks from Michigan leave that area? Instead, the smart approach would be to allocate those resources to more pressing needs like more quality defensive linemen or wide receivers.

That’s where FSU will need the most help over the next couple of years. It seems to be their approach, as they are trending with several blue-chip defensive linemen. They are in a solid position for some quality wide receivers as well.

I know folks like to question some of the moves by Mike Norvell, but they almost always seem to work out or make sense in hindsight. All we have to do is look at the Trey Benson transfer. Folks got jokes off when he committed, and now those same folks believe he’ll be the best option at running back in 2022.

Recruiting is way more than just looking at rankings, and coaches make decisions based on several things. They can’t pursue and waste time and resources on guys that don’t have a genuine interest in FSU.

Coaches are the people that have those conversations with recruits to make those determinations, not fans.
