Key To Victory

This will be the second consecutive team the Noles have faced that has swung the bats well to open the season. FSU starting pitching is among the best in the nation and will count on Parker Messick, Bryce Hubbart, and Ross Dunn once again. FSU has to get quality starts from them and hope they can find some consistency in the bullpen.

Offensively, FSU hitters have to put it in play more often and work pitcher counts. Wake Forest pitchers will issue their share of walks. Defensively, Wake Forest has been solid, and the Noles will need to avoid providing extra outs to a potent offense. It’s worth noting Wake Forest’s home run output, although they haven’t faced the caliber of pitching they will against FSU. Pitchers will need to work ahead in the count, and the offense will need to score this weekend. The first game will take place Friday at 3 p.m. ET and will air on the ACC Network.
