Ontaria Wilson

I include Ontaria Wilson as he will have to fend off the plethora of incoming talent brought in via the portal.

Wilson was the team’s leading receiver, and that’s good for him. It is not, however, a good sign for the offense, as his overall numbers don’t scream that he is the number one option.
He had 23 receptions for 382 yards for five touchdowns. He has shown that he can get open, on occasion, and can be elusive and make some plays. The problem is he can’t do it consistently against man coverage unless the coaching staff schemes it up.

The best thing for him is to become the second option of the offense where he hopefully can emerge with more production.

The coaching staff is looking to do just that as they brought in four wide receivers after thinking that only one was sufficient last year. The transfer crop may not be very productive outside of Winston Wright, but they are diverse in experience and skillset.

Mycah Pittman is a cerebral veteran who is elusive. Johnny Wilson is a big body who is an elite blocker. Duece Spann has length and deep speed, even though he is just learning the position.
It’ll take a lot from Ontaria Wilson to stave off this competition from the new additions and young players in the room like Malik McClain, Darion Williamson, and Kentron Poitier.

No matter what, this will be a good problem to have. Honestly, the offense is in trouble if Wilson remains the top wide receiver on the team.

Everything from here on in this room is important as the transfer haul will be directly correlated to the success of Mike Norvell at Florida State.
