Dennis Briggs

The defensive lineman had a promising campaign last year, but it was cut short due to injury.
Dennis Briggs was consistently one of the first names on the depth chart and one of the biggest impact players on the vaunted front porch. Due to that esteem in the position group, the team returns quite a bit of talent inside.

The issue is the outside talent is now NFL bound. Briggs’ athleticism helps answer this team’s biggest question as they try to find the replacements for Johnson and Thomas.
Biggs is looking to move back out toward the edge along with new incomer Jared Verse, and they seem the best hope at this point. The depth behind them seems to be Derrick McLendon and Quashon Fuller, as they flashed last year in their relief role.

Then the younger talent in Patrick Payton, George Wilson, and Byron Turner is also looking to push for playing time.

Who will emerge out of this group? Older depth players like Fuller and McClendon had good campaigns and can contribute to a high degree if they take the next step.

The answer could even be outside of the current defensive line group as the staff is still shopping in the transfer portal(Jared Verse).

My best bet is Dennis Briggs.
