Wide Receivers

I know I said the QB situation was arguably the most important. However, I put wide receivers No. 1 because we know what’s possible with Jordan Travis if healthy. The wide receiver room is wide open, with many new faces from the transfer portal.

There’s also redshirt freshman Jordan Burrell who missed nearly all of last season with a leg injury. The fact he played in the Notre Dame opener meant he could have been a factor before the injury happened. Is FSU going to get anything from the older guys?

Will the transfer players take those spots? Malik McClain looked like he will become a player with a solid freshman season.

The only older guy that seemed to show any progression was Ja’Khi Douglas, and he didn’t see the field for large portions of the year. Jordan Young, Kentron Poitier, Darion Williamson, or Keyshawn Helton didn’t offer much last year.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some attrition from this group between now and fall camp. Hopefully, spring practice will begin to tell the story of this group working towards becoming a strength again for the offense instead of a liability.
