FSU football: 5 players from 2019 recruiting class need to shine in 2022
By Kelvin Hunt
Quashon Fuller
Quashon Fuller was the fifth highest-rated player in the 2021 recruiting class. He appeared in four games and finished with three tackles in the 2020 campaign.
A lot wasn’t expected of him in 2021, but he made a couple of splash plays in the Notre Dame game that caught everyone’s attention. However, that flash in the pan didn’t last long as he appeared in 10 games and finished the season with eight tackles.
However, he did finish the season with three tackles for a loss and had three tackles in the finale against Florida.
Fuller is someone the Noles need to emerge at the defensive end position in 2022 with the departures of Keir Thomas and Jermaine Johnson.
The Noles signed Jared Verse from the transfer portal and Dennis Briggs will likely assume the opposite defensive end position. However, FSU needs production and depth from the position, and that’s why the defense took a big leap forward in 2021.
Can Fuller be one of those guys to win a starting job or at least provide serviceable depth? He should be physically ready after three years in college. Maybe we will see a jump in production similar to what we saw from Kalen DeLoach from 2020 to 2021?
