FSU football brought in a highly ranked 2018 transitional class under Willie Taggart. On paper, Taggart did a masterful job of saving the class ranked in the 60s.

However, over time, that class has failed to provide a lot of production considering the number of blue-chip players (13 of 21). We’ve learned that’s generally the case with transition classes with an Early Signing Period.

An astounding 14 of the 21 players were dismissed, entered the transfer portal, medically disqualified, or declared for the NFL Draft.

There have been some solid players from this class. Asante Samuel Jr. became a second round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Jaiden Lars-Woodbey was an ESPN Freshman All-American before an injury derailed his career. The latter has since transferred to Boston College.

The lowest-rated recruit in the class, Keyshawn Helton, was productive before an injury sidelined him in the 2019 season.
