Wide Receiver

FSU failed to sign a high school wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting cycle after only targeting two main players in Kevin Coleman and Devaughn Mortimer. I’ve proven many times it’s difficult for freshmen wide receivers to contribute, so FSU signing four wide receivers from the transfer portal probably helps them more on the field in 2022. However, the Noles need to get back to signing and developing quality talent from the high school ranks. The good news is all of the transfer portal guys have multiple years of eligibility left.

However, Mycah Pittman and Winston Wright Jr. will be eligible for the NFL Draft next year if they have productive 2022 seasons and pursue that route. There will likely be some attrition from the position between now and when the season begins, which means the coaching staff will need to sign at least three wide receivers in this recruiting cycle. They already have one commit in three-star Vandrevius Jacobs and are in good standing with a few top receivers like Jalen Brown, Adam Hopkins, Hykeem Williams, and Santana Fleming. The question is can they land at least two of those four?
