SP+ rankings place FSU football with the No. 47 ranked offense. The Noles return starters at several positions, with leading rusher Jashaun Corbin as the only key contributor missing.

Starting quarterback Jordan Travis, tight end Camren McDonald, running back Treshaun Ward, all of the wide receivers, and nearly all of the offensive line return in 2022.

FSU added help from the transfer portal at wide receiver and on the offensive line, which should help bolster that unit.

The ‘Noles offense averaged 32 ppg with Jordan Travis as the starter, and he missed the equivalent of four games in 2021.

Another offseason to hone his skills in Mike Norvell’s offense, better depth on the offensive line, and more talent at receiver? A lot of their losses last year were a result of not having enough firepower to help the defense when they got stops.

The defense would gas because they were on the field for so many snaps, and games eventually got away from them.

The Jacksonville State, NC State, Clemson, and Florida games would be prime examples of FSU finishing with 8+ wins if the offense was better in 2021. The returning experience and continuity should mean more production provided Jordan Travis can stay healthy. However, history isn’t on his side and SP+ doesn’t factor injury luck.
