I highlighted FSU’s defensive MVP Jermaine Johnson shining at the Senior Bowl earlier this week. Now it’s time to highlight FSU’s most consistent offensive performer from 2021 in running back Jashaun Corbin.
Corbin declared for the NFL Draft after the 2021 season, which saw him lead the team with 887 rushing yards for a 6.2 yards per rush average.
Corbin likely would have broken the 1,000-yard rushing mark if he wasn’t playing with lingering injuries during the second half of the season.
His performance earned a spot at the East/West Shrine Bowl. Corbin was one of the standouts in the game with some nice runs with good vision and enough speed to burst through holes and get to the second level of the defense:
Jashaun Corbin is one of the most underrated running backs in this 2022 #NFLDraft class.

Corbin proved he could be a factor in the passing game while at FSU, accumulating 25 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown. Corbin had 50 rushing yards on eight carries, a rushing touchdown, and converted a two-point conversion with a run through three quarters. Corbin’s touchdown run showed the power FSU football fans became accustomed to during his two years in Tallahassee.
Jashaun Corbin earned himself an invite to the NFL Combine and with a strong performance, will likely continue Mike Norvell’s propensity to get running backs drafted. Corbin looks like he’s slimmed down somewhat since he last wore the garnet and gold.
That improved conditioning could pay dividends with a faster than expected 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. One of the latest mocks I saw had Corbin selected in the sixth round, but he may have given NFL GM’s more to think about after his performance Thursday night.
Corbin gets yards after contact, rarely fumbles, and is solid in pass pro. He is capable out of the backfield with surprising speed in the open field. Job well done, Jashaun!
