Start Season With A Win For First Time Since 2016

FSU football hasn’t done themselves any favors with tough matchups right out of the gate most years. The 2022 scheduled opener with Duquesne should finally get them to a 1-0 record for the first time since the 2016 season.

I know that sounds trivial to a program like FSU, but confidence and wins have been hard to come by lately.

A game against Duquesne should allow FSU to get some experience under their belt and work out some kinks before traveling to take on an LSU team that will be facing a lot of new changes with a new coach and schemes on both sides of the ball.

We saw how winning the Syracuse game last year sparked the confidence in a team nobody had winning more than 2-3 games tops at one point.

A game against Duquesne should allow plenty of reps for several new faces on both sides of the ball. We’ll likely get to see many of the players FSU signed from the transfer portal in action.

Those reps could prove valuable in the second half of the season.
