Minimal Contributor/Starter

These are players who never really managed to make an impact but manage to play snaps at times or start but not in any consistent fashion and not counting special teams.

  • Brendan Gant
  • Travis Jay
  • Dontae Lucas (Transfer Portal)
  • Renardo Green
  • Malcolm Ray

Brendan Gant was the second-highest ranked player in the class, who came in as a safety but will look to move to linebacker in an event to remain viable. Travis Jay has been a major disappointment in every aspect as the third-highest ranked player.

Dontae Lucas could never get his head in the right space to become a viable contributor. Renardo Green has dealt with injuries and will likely be passed on the depth chart. Malcolm Ray finally began to assert himself and played some valuable reps in a reserve role during the 2021 season.
