Dillan Gibbons

Notre Dame transfer Dillan Gibbons didn’t arrive in Tallahassee until the summer, but the impact he had in 2021 can’t go unstated.

Gibbons was a big part of the FSU running game’s success as a pulling guard. He was arguably the only offensive lineman on the team capable of doing what he does in the running game. That was evident in the NC State game he missed with the flu.

Gibbons is one of the players I referenced when talking about the number of players playing through injuries to give FSU a chance to win games.

Gibbons wasn’t a starter at Notre Dame, a place with a reputable reputation for offensive linemen, but brought some of that mindset to Tallahassee, and it rubbed off on some of the guys.

If FSU doesn’t bring Gibbons in to play at FSU last year, the offensive line is likely much worse than it was, and FSU probably doesn’t win some of the games they did win.
