FSU football: Impact of adding three wide receivers from transfer portal

Talent Infusion
If you want to talk about a talent infusion, look at this. Here’s a list of wide receivers signed since 2017:
- DJ Matthews (No. 51 overall, No. 8 WR)
- Tamorrion Terry (No. 350 overall, No. 52 WR)
- Warren Thompson (No. 157 overall, No. 28 WR)
- Tre’shaun Harrison (No. 161 overall, listed as an athlete)
- Jordan Young (No. 386 overall, No. 64 WR)
- D’Marcus Adams (No. 420 overall, No. 70 WR)
- Keyshawn Helton (N/A overall, No. 191 WR)
- Bryan Robinson (No. 180 overall, No. 32 WR)
- Ja’Khi Douglas (No. 288 overall, No. 46 WR)
- Kentron Poitier (No. 493 overall, No. 81 WR)
- Malik McClain (No. 273 overall, No. 42 WR)
- Joshua Burrell (No. 523 overall, No. 78 WR)
- Destyn Hill (No. 113 overall, No. 19 WR)
Here’s the high school ranking of the three transfer receivers:
- Mycah Pittman (No. 94 overall, No. 15 WR)
- Johnny Wilson (No. 121 overall, No. 21 WR)
- Deuce Spann (Rated as a QB). However, likely a top 25 WR based on height and speed in his respective class.
Notice the difference in those transfers and the majority of the guys signed since 2017? So, FSU football will have some talented wide receivers with college experience joining the team in the spring.
They’ll have all spring, summer, and fall camp to do everything possible to become impact players in 2022. Not only that, they’ll force other players to shape up or ship out by the time spring ball is over. That’s about as much impact as one could hope from a unit that drastically needs to be a positive for Mike Norvell in 2022.
