FSU football: Grading our top 10 bold predictions for 2021 season
By Kelvin Hunt
Jordan Travis will have 3,000 all-purpose yards
"This projection is tough because we don’t know who the starting quarterback for FSU football will be. However, we saw what Jordan Travis can do last season in limited duty. Travis appeared in eight games and had 559 rushing yards and 1,056 passing yards for a total of 1,615 yards. Travis appeared in eight games but missed the second half of the Louisville and Pittsburgh games. He didn’t start the Georgia Tech, Miami, or Jacksonville State games, which means he was productive when in the game. I’m sure McKenzie Milton will see snaps at quarterback, but I’m not sure how much he’ll be able to play. If Jordan Travis had 1,615 yards to what essentially equates to maybe six full games last year? I don’t think it’s too far-fetched to see him double his output with an offseason to learn the offense. Not to mention everyone believes he’s much better as a passer. If that’s the case, he’ll probably be the starter and take the majority of the snaps."
I can’t give myself an A+ here because the prediction didn’t come to fruition. However, I think it’s safe to say Jordan Travis would have likely surpassed 3,000 all-purpose yards had he stayed healthy.
He missed two games and barely played in the Jacksonville State and Wake Forest Games. He also missed about a quarter and a half against Florida in the season finale. Travis showed some progression as a passer and could have a great 2022 if he can keep the injury but at bay.
