Final Thoughts

It would have been nice to win, and I can handle a loss to a more talented team. I’ve said it time and time again, FSU to play near perfect to beat the average to good teams. However, it’s frustrating to watch them beat themselves with the same mistakes for the entire year.

Special teams overall have been a disappointment. The inability to convert on third downs and missed tackles on the defense have been issues all season. It’s also frustrating Florida had half of the staff and seemed to have their guys more ready to play than FSU.

I don’t think FSU got outcoached, because there were plays to make, and the players didn’t make them. However, Florida seemed to play with a different type of fire at points in the game. I remember saying Florida wants to win this game more than FSU a couple of times, and that was disappointing.

FSU didn’t quit and fought to get back into the game instead of laying down. They have to be commended for that, but now it’s time for the coaching staff to finish up strong on the recruiting trail.

This program needs an infusion of talent in the worst way, and they are in a good position with several players that could be difference-makers.
