FSU Offense Missed Opportunities

FSU football struggled with their first possession with three plays for -6 yards, and Jordan Travis exited the game for nearly a quarter with an injury on their next possession. The offense ran six plays for -5 yards with Jordan Travis out of the game.

They didn’t score their first touchdown until there was 6:45 remaining in the first half. FSU’s defense forced their third interception on Florida’s next possession to give the FSU offense the ball at their 20-yard line with 29 seconds remaining.

FSU moved the ball past midfield with 21 seconds remaining, and Jordan Travis ran a play and tried to break tackles instead of getting down in field goal range and calling a timeout. There’s no guarantee FSU would have made the field goal, but it would have been great to have the opportunity to take the lead into the half.

Jordan Travis took a sack on 3rd and nine on Florida’s 29-yard line that took them out of field goal range on their second possession of the second half when he had room to run for the first down or maybe a touchdown. An interception(that was the wrong call by the refs) took place on their next possession, and Florida cashed in with a touchdown off of it.

They had too many wasted opportunities when they were on Florida’s side of the field, and they did a poor job of converting third downs before their final drive that cut the lead to 24-21.
