FSU football head coach Mike Norvell had his team in a position to make a bowl game with a win over Florida Saturday afternoon. However, many of the issues that have plagued the Noles all year reared their ugly heads.

FSU football is a different team without Jordan Travis as the quarterback, and he had to exit a large portion of the game in the first half with an injury. Those possessions turned into a turnover and punts, which cost the Noles because the defense forced three turnovers in the first half.

I said the offense needed to show up to give the Noles a chance, and it was too little too late. The inability to convert third downs continued and Jordan Travis made some questionable decisions that proved costly.

Of course, if it were not for Travis, it would have been a blowout win for the Gators, and he has to be given a ton of credit for coming back into the game after the injury, but that doesn’t absolve some crucial mistakes.

Florida is the more talented team overall, and that’s why they were able to overcome those three first-half turnovers. Here are my three takeaways from the regular-season finale.
