Final Thoughts

I think this is another prime example of the FSU defense needing the FSU offense to show up. The FSU offense has struggled on third downs of late, converting 5 of 25 opportunities in the past two games.

Florida’s defense has been stingy, only allowing 5 of 28 third-down conversions in their last two games against Power 5 offenses. However, FSU’s offense is much better than Missouri or South Carolina.

It’s simple, stay ahead of the chains, and execute on offense while not allowing the explosive plays on defense. I don’t need the defensive line to sack the quarterback as much as I need them to get pressure without allowing space for the quarterback to break off big runs.

If the Noles can do that and play a clean game without turnovers and a ton of penalties? They’ll have a great shot of going on the road ending Florida’s season, making a bowl game, and capturing their first state championship since 2016.

The reports out of FSU practice this week have been a focused team that’s on a mission to finish the regular season strong. Be sure to tune in to ESPN at noon for what should be a great rivalry game.
