Run The Ball

FSU football has not had the same rushing production in the last couple of games we saw earlier in the year. However, they will need to run the ball effectively against Florida and not depend on Jordan Travis to throw the ball.

That will especially be the case if offensive lineman Darius Washington can’t play after suffering an injury against Boston College last week.

I mentioned Florida doesn’t excel at tackles for a loss and allows 4.30 yards per rush.

Missouri practically ran the ball down their throat on back-to-back plays in overtime to win the game. The 150-yard rushing mark has been key in FSU victories this year.

That’s a mark where they’ve won or had a chance to win nearly every game. Jordan Travis has been throwing the ball more in the past couple of games, but I think I’d feature him in more designed runs to help open up the passing game since the Noles haven’t run the ball as successfully as earlier in the year.

Also, a successful running game will test the will of a team that may have checked out or one that wants to check out.
