Final Thoughts

It’s weird how things come full circle, but that seems to be the case among the big three in Florida. Well, I guess that’s not the case for Miami since they have been in the same perpetual spot for the last 20 years.

However, Florida had some solid seasons under Dan Mullen, and he beat the Noles handily twice. That was the Gators taking advantage of a terrible hire by the FSU administration more than anything else.

The book is still out on Mike Norvell, but there are promising signs that FSU football is on its way to righting the ship that’s been operating with a broken propeller of sorts.

Jimbo Fisher took advantage of instability at Florida and Miami to get FSU football back to elite status. We’ve seen that book before, and it feels like we’re about to open that book again. Florida firing Mullen may force Miami to hold onto Manny Diaz for another year since the Florida job is better than Miami.

If FSU can win Saturday’s game and close strong with the recruits? That aspect will go a long way into closing the gap between the Noles and Gators over the past few years. Hold on tight, FSU football fans, because we are climbing!
