Tyre West (Defensive Tackle)

Four-star defensive tackle and Georgia commit Tyre West is a name that’s been on the radar of FSU football fans. He visited Tallahassee in June but never made it back to campus after saying he planned to come back several times.

However, things got real when he visited campus Wednesday after 247 Sports recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong predicted he would flip from Georgia to the Noles. Several guys that cover Georgia recruiting felt the same way.

Georgia has assembled a monster recruiting class and the path to early playing time along with the relationship built with Odell Haggins and others had to play a massive part in getting to where we are now.

West would be the best defensive tackle FSU signed since Robert Cooper in the 2018 recruiting cycle. He ranks as the No. 89 player overall and No. 14 defensive lineman.

West plans to take his official visit to FSU football next month on what could be a huge recruiting weekend for the Noles. As he said, he plans to visit several other places in the interview with Noles247, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him commit if he comes back to campus for the official visit. It’s looking good for the Noles, but we’ll see if he follows through on all the other visits.

If he committed in December, it would help create some recruiting momentum near the Early Signing Period for the Noles.
