Jovantae Barnes (Running Back)

FSU football has an underrated 2022 commit as the lone running back in the class with Rodney Hill. However, a player like four-star Jovantae Barnes is someone the staff has been pursuing for a long time.

The Nevada product has family in Florida and visited the Noles for the Midnight Madness event when the recruiting dead period ended. The thought was they needed to get him back on campus, and they succeeded in landing an official visit for the Miami game last week.

Barnes checks in as the No. 112 player nationally and No. 10 running back with 35 offers. Oklahoma was the trend, with Barnes visiting there in June and planning to officially visit later this month.

Oklahoma has two running backs committed for the 2022 recruiting cycle. The word is FSU plans to have one big recruiting weekend before the Early Signing Period, if they could get him back to that event that would be a positive sign for the staff.
